When I was selected to participate in the CIP - Gallagher High Performance Academy, I was invited to contribute to the preparation of the Yaras 7s actively, the Brazilian rugby 7s team in the HSBC World Series and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Brazilian team has a reduced staff compared to other teams, but it is very versatile and committed to the group's development.
The technical/tactical staff consists of Will Broderick (head coach), Ige Da Ros (video analyst and assistant coach), and Guilherme Coghetto (assistant coach). The group also has a physical trainer, physiotherapist, psychologist, nutritionist, and other professionals on call.
Considering this scenario, we sought to understand where I could collaborate. Due to my partial availability to participate in the group's activities and routines, we chose a topic that I mastered due to my academic training, with a transversal characteristic that could be stimulated in different situations and that was also latent for the group's development: communication.
I will share context, methodological choices, stimuli, and results in the following posts throughout this journey.
